Long-distance move from Marion, IN to Brooksville, FL

Avoid at all costs

This was the worst experience you can possibly imagine! We moved from Indiana to Florida. None of the promises they gave us were true. It started at a cost of $3000 and we ended up paying $9000. They divided our shipmentand would not give us our shipment unless we paid the rest for the next part. They did offer us $2000 back if we would promise not to write anything bad and sign papers to that effect. They destroyed or broke 40 items and we did not get a dime back. They said a truck was going down empty so they could take things right away which was also untrue. It took a month to get our things and when they came they arrived in a U-Haul and we had to find people to help the driver load our household items. I could write a book on how horrible this was. We honestly should have sued for PTSD it was that bad. We moved from Korea to the states and had one thing broken and it was a much better experience all around than simply moving from Indiana to Florida. Please avoid this company at all costs!!!

Long-distance move from Detroit, MI to Seattle, WA

No movement in a month. 200% price increase. Predatory movers. Etc.

I don't even know where to begin. Peapack doesn't do the moving, they hire third parties to do the moving for them. These are not vetted well. I was quoted $2400 ($1200 upfront, $600 on pickup, $600 on delivery). This number climbed to $4700 on pickup and the movers refused to leave without payment. The mover wanted a photo of my debit card and not only incorrectly charged my card the wrong amount by $1000 twice, but also did not get my authorization to do so. Peapack told me two weeks ago that they would figure out how they could cover the difference even if they had to come out of pocket. They haven't. I lost a $600 love seat because there "wasn't enough space" despite it being on the inventory list. Their customer service doesn't answer unless you hide your caller ID. They don't email back.

My stuff was picked up on August 26th, it's September 27th and I don't even know if it's in transit yet. They (and their moving company) have over $4000 from me right now and it's been a month and I have nothing to show and no one will reply to me. From what I've seen from other sites, too, this seems really common and they do not even attempt to have the carriers reimburse you, they will only offer to refund your deposit. On trust pilot there's a lady who had her window shattered and furniture damaged by the carrier and they offered her $1000/$4500 back. Lol.

Never ever use this company.

Local move within California

Top notch service.

Pretty smooth sailing with peapack. I had a lot of big items to move and I wanted someone trustworthy and hands on so I could focus on all the other things associated with relocating. Mark and Tom were my movers and they were extremely nice and went the extra mile to make sure my stuff was safely getting in and out of the truck. It was really nice to know that my personals were safely packed. Customer service was on point, they were very clear and helpful with any questions I had. My stuff even got there a day early before I arrived in LA. I’m not planning on moving again any time soon, but I’ll definitely be coming back when that time comes. 5 stars.

Long-distance move from Dacono, CO to Merritt Island, FL

Very Happy with the service.

I couldn't be more happy. It all started with Crystal, she was sweet, thorough, and didn't rush me into making a decision like all the other companies. She helped me go through all of my options before I decided to go with PeaPack. Then, when I called in a panic as I had realized that I forgot everything in my attic, they were able to add the extra items at a discounted rate. When the movers showed up, they moved my entire 2 bedroom home into the truck and were off before 3 pm. What I really liked is how the remained in contact with me every step of the way. While I was flying to go on a 7 day cruise they were able to accommodate me and had it delivered the day after I returned. they set up the whole house! This is the first time moving with an actual moving company and I had a great experience. I don't ever want to leave Florida, but if I do I will call Crystal back and use this company! I have her number saved in my phone because you never know!

Happy Customer.

Extremely pleased with the service I was provided. John spent alot of time with me the few weeks leading up to actually making my official reservation. He was very detailed and thorough and it made the move go very smooth. Jesse and Paul did an amazing job with the extra packing that I hired them to do. I just hired them again to move my daughter home from college. Thank you peapack!

Long-distance move from Bend, OR to Foley, AL

Complete Nightmare.

I filled out a request to get information on moving companies and was almost immediately contacted by John from Peapack. I planned to move myself from Oregon to AL but wanted to check to see what the price would be for professionals. He told me he had someone cancel who was moving from a nearby town (20 minutes from where I lived) to FL and that I’d be doing him a favor if I let him handle my move. I saw all the great reviews online and thought I had lucked out given the short notice and discount. I paid the deposit and signed the paperwork and thought everything was taken care of.

I was told I’d get a call from customer service before my move to verify my household goods and have any questions answered. I never heard from anyone. I called their customer service number to see if they could give me an estimate on how long the movers would take once they picked up my stuff so I could plan my road trip. Chloe never called or returned my call and when it forwarded to the after hours phone she quickly said she couldn’t hear me and hung up. Fast forward to days before my move. I was told I’d know the exact day and time window 48-36 hours prior. The day they were supposed to pickup my goods I got an EMAIL at about 10 am informing me the carrier couldn’t make it. From day one I told them the date I had to be out of my apartment, which was the next day. They claimed my phone didn’t work and they couldn’t call me and that they left me voicemails. I had zero missed calls or voicemails. They were able to find another carrier, my apartment manager gave me extra days since the next tenants paperwork was still be sorted out, and I trusted them AGAIN to handle me move.

The night before my new pickup date (3 days later) I got a call from the carrier saying they wouldn’t be there and that they may be able to get me by July 2. This is after Peapack GUARANTEED me that they would pick up my stuff. Chloe (customer service manager) even told me earlier that day that the carrier would be there on my pickup date in the afternoon. I called every person I had contact information for and their customer service line, panicking, and NO ONE returned my calls. I guess they were busy enjoying their Friday night and not at all concerned with their customers. I finally got an email from Chloe offering to refund my deposit as though she was doing me a favor. It’s written in your contract that you can cancel with 36 hours of your contract date and get a full refund, and I was within that time frame since I had gotten a new contract after their first mistake! I had to order a U haul that night and call everyone in the phone book the next day (a Saturday) to find someone to pack my U Haul for me, then drive a 15 foot truck across the country last minute because of the incompetence of this company. If they couldn’t have resolved it after their first mistake, they should have said so. That would have given me more time to plan the move myself, thought still last minute. Do no trust this company and do not give them a dime. They will not follow through on any of their procedures and they clearly select the worst carriers to do business with.

We are extremely dedicated as a company to prevent this type of inconvenience to our customers. Although there is more to the story for this particular move, we take full responsibility and have implemented new policies and procedures to lower the chance of such occurrences happening to our customers in the future.

We did issue a full compensation for the inconveniences and added stress, and apologize for your negative experience with PeaPack Moving and Storage.

Long-distance move from Iowa City, IA to Winston Salem, NC

Fraud company,l. Movers sucks. Do NOT use their service.

The movers charged me 1/3 more than the original estimate on the moving date. I refused to pay and called the company. They claimed that they would solve the problem and negotiated with the movers later. But they did nothing. The movers charged me more on the delivery day. They even lost one of my furnitures and kept saying that they didn’t pick up on the pick-up date. It was a nightmare. Do Not use them. I am going to file the claim and sue the company. They are just not professional at all, especially the movers. They only love money.

Long-distance move from Garner, NC to Groveland, FL

Interstate Move from NC to FL.

I am writing to commend the “Gabi Crew” for the handling of our move from NC to FL without any issues. The crew was amazing and made sure that all of our items were packed well and safely stored and secure in the truck. Since this was not a direct move, our belongings had to be stored for a week before they could be delivered to our new home. We can say that the crew never disappointed us. Not only were they “on time” for the scheduled delivery date, but the crew extended themselves in a professional and friendly manner for the pick up and delivery. From our experience, we know that this crew will do the same for anyone who has an upcoming move. Thank you “Gabi Crew” for taking such great care of us! You have our vote of confidence!

Long-distance move from Summerville, SC to Wichita, KS

South Carolina to Kansas.

My husband and I have moved entirely too many times in the past due to job relocation. EVERY time we have done it alone with just the help of a few friends. We put our trust into PeaPack and let them guide us in the right direction! We are extremely thankful for the easy process and the ease of mind knowing that it would all be taken care of for us. We were nervous the night before and called the after hours line, Chloe answered during her personal time with her family & assured us everything would go as planned, which it did. Would HIGHLY recommend them and plan to ONLY use them in the future!!

Long-distance move from Rohnert Park, CA to Athens, GA

Moving yurt from California to Georgia.

I had a decent experience with Peapack moving and storage first having to move across country is going to be stressful, but the process went pretty smoothly with just a few bumps in the road. The tricky part was getting the pricing correct since it was not a typical move as I was shipping a structure called a yurt. Peapack did a good job of working with me to try and estimate the price and Chloe was very well connected with movers to give me lots of options. Tina was also nice and helpful along the way. It was hard because there are different companies they contract with so be prepared for a possible difference in price when they arrive so be a specific as possible on what is being moved. The actual person who drove my stuff across country was excellent, it arrived in good condition and in a reasonable amount of time and I was very thankful for that! I would say it helps to be educated about the process, most of the time it goes like this, Peapack will give you an estimate and find and carrier which will come and pick it up in a smaller 20ft truck then taken back for storage till another bigger truck will be able to take it to the final destination. They mark your stuff with tags and it is separated by color then when it arrives they should unload it. This process is costs signifigantly less than some of the bigger companies , but its getting handled more so there is more of a chance for some damages if you want to save money then go this route! A few of my things were a little bumped up but nothing major and I was happy to not pay thousands more to ship the yurt with the more expensive companies.
